Dr. Hasibun Naher received her PhD from the School of Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia. She completed her B.Sc. (Hons.) as well as M. Sc in Mathematics from the Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh and secured first class in both. 
She is now working as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, BRAC University (BRACU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. She joined BRACU in 2007 as a lecturer. Before joining BRACU she worked as a Lecturer in mathematics in different universities of Bangladesh since 2001.
She was awarded the 2018 OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Award as a first Bangladeshi women scientist in Mathematics that was held on 17 February 2018, Austin, Texas, USA. She also received award as the best researcher in BRAC University Faculty & Staff Award 2015. 
Dr. Naher is frequently attending in the international Conferences as an invited speaker and a speaker all over the world. 
Naher was interviewed with United Nations on 13 February 2019 to inspire the women and girls. She was also interviewed with Asian Scientist Magazine on 07 September 2018. One of her stories was published with Elsevier on 14 March 2018. American Mathematical Society (AMS) congratulated her for receiving the 2018 OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Awards. UN Academic Impact appreciated her research works for actively involving and continuing her research on SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), namely, (i) SDG 5: Gender Equality (Women in STEM); and (ii) SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. Her research background is quite commendable. She is also doing her research on Applied Mathematics, PDEs, ODEs, Nonlinear Fractional Differential Equations, Nonlinear Evolution Equations. Moreover, she is doing her research on Active Learning, Climate and Energy which are also the segments of SDGs, (i) SDG 4: Quality Education; (ii) SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy; and (iii) SDG 13: Climate Action.
